Oil prices dropped on Friday as tensions in the Middle East appeared to ease. US President Donald Trump stated that the country will not attack Iran before the upcoming elections next month. This announcement came amid ongoing talks aimed at ending the conflict that has been disrupting oil supplies.
Brent crude futures fell by 72 cents, or 0.7%, to $103.53 a barrel by 0220 GMT. Meanwhile, US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures declined by 52 cents, or 0.6%, to $90.97.
