Oil Prices Fall Amid Ongoing Tensions in Middle East
Oil prices continued to fall on Monday, with Brent crude slipping to around $101 per barrel. This decline comes despite fresh attacks claimed by the Houthis, who targeted 'sensitive' sites in Saudi Arabia's capital, Riyadh, with missiles and drones on Saturday.
The group also attacked an Aramco facility in Yanbu, a key oil export hub on the Red Sea. At the time of reporting, Brent crude was trading at around $101.79 per barrel while WTI crude fell 89 cents to $99.41 per barrel.
Indian equity markets are likely to open on a muted note, with GIFT Nifty hovering above 23,000. Ponmudi R, CEO of Enrich Money, noted that 'Indian equity markets are likely to open on a flat note' due to the recent pullback in oil prices.
