Oil Prices Fall Amid Strong Middle East Supplies, Trump-Xi Meeting Looms
Oil prices continued their downward trend on September 21, with Brent crude falling by 1.71% to $102.09 a barrel and WTI for October delivery dropping below $100 to $98.33 a barrel.
The decline in oil prices comes despite disruptions on Saudi Arabia's East-West pipeline, which analysts say has not significantly impacted overall supply from the Middle East.
Total flows from the region averaged 17.1 million barrels per day over the past ten days, 6.1 million barrels below the average for all of 2025, according to JPMorgan Chase analysts cited by CNBC.
However, markets are still watching closely how new disruptions could cut into global supply, particularly with tensions rising in the Middle East following recent attacks on Saudi Arabia by Iran-backed Houthi forces.
