The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 80 points at 12:38 p.m. Eastern time, while the Nasdaq composite increased by 0.6%.

In the oil market, Brent crude prices fell by 3.5% to $87.39, marking a second decline following 13 consecutive gains.
