Oil Prices Fall, World Markets Rise Amid US-Iran Tensions
World markets generally rose on Tuesday despite rising tensions between the US and Iran.
The S&P 500 gained 0.3%, edging closer to its all-time high set earlier this month, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average added 160 points, or 0.3%.
Nvidia, a leader in artificial-intelligence technology, rose 2.2% after dropping 2.9% the previous day.
Oil prices fell for the second time in two days, with Brent crude losing 3.6% to $87.27, despite increased US pressure on Iran, which had driven oil prices higher and worried investors about inflation.
