Oil Prices Hold Steady Amid Ongoing Iran-US Talks
Global oil prices held steady on Thursday as talks between Iran and the US continued to unfold. The price of Brent crude futures rose by 12 cents, or 0.1%, to $98.15 per barrel. Meanwhile, US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude fell by 7 cents, or 0.1%, to $90.35 per barrel.
This comes after both major oil benchmarks gained about $1 per barrel in the previous trading session. The slow pace of price increase is attributed to the ongoing talks between Iran and the US, which has been affecting regional exports. This development has contributed to a steady global oil market, with prices continuing their upward trend.
The current situation has led to a mixed reaction from investors. While some are optimistic about the prospects of a deal being reached, others remain cautious due to the uncertainty surrounding the outcome of the talks.
