Oil Prices Hold Steady Amid US Signals No Indefinite War with Iran
Oil prices remained steady on Friday as signals from the US administration that it does not intend to wage an 'indefinite war' with Iran, along with reports of continued oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz.
The US Vice President JD Vance stated that all options remain on the table over Iran, including military, economic and diplomatic measures. However, he emphasized that Washington is not seeking an indefinite war with Tehran.
Vance also clarified that the US is using a combination of military, economic, diplomatic and other forms of pressure to protect commercial vessels and maintain oil and gas flows through the Strait of Hormuz.
Reports indicate that approximately 15 million barrels of oil have passed through the strait despite the conflict.
