Oil Prices Rebound as Washington and Tehran Weigh Diplomatic Options
Crude oil prices rebounded on Tuesday after four consecutive sessions of declines, as investors weighed potential diplomatic efforts between Washington and Tehran.
The Brent crude for November delivery rose $1.14, or 1.1%, to trade at $101.48 a barrel by 0317 GMT, while West Texas Intermediate for October gained 87 cents, or 0.9%, to $96.65 a barrel.
Tim Waterer, chief market analyst at KCM Trade, characterized the move as technical rather than a fundamental shift, saying it resembled 'a typical short-covering bounce' after recent declines.
The diplomatic signals between Washington and Tehran emerged after US President Donald Trump indicated openness to meeting Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian during this week's United Nations General Assembly in New York.
