Benchmark oil prices have rebounded to around $102 (Sh13,205) a barrel after four consecutive sessions of losses.

The rise comes as markets weigh the prospects of renewed diplomatic efforts between the US and Iran ahead of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

US President Donald Trump has indicated he is open to meeting Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, which could lead to a reduction in geopolitical risks and support the restoration of disrupted energy flows.

Iran's president is expected to attend the high-level UN meetings with a smaller delegation than in 2025, while Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi arrived on Monday.
