Oil Prices Slide Below $100 Amid Signs of Supply Recovery
International oil prices have fallen below $100 per barrel for the first time in two weeks. Brent crude futures settled at $99.25 a barrel on September 22, down 1.1% from the previous session.
This marks a significant drop, as prices had been steadily rising due to concerns over supply disruptions in the Middle East.
However, market analysts point out that recent developments suggest a recovery in crude oil supplies is underway.
The Saudi Arabian East-West pipeline, damaged by attacks from Yemen's Houthi rebels, has begun restarting operations and is expected to recover significant throughput by this weekend.
In addition, shipping data firm Kpler reports that the highest volume of shipments since the outbreak of the war with Iran took place at Saudi Arabia's eastern Ras Tanura port, with six very large crude carriers departing carrying 12 million barrels of crude oil.
