Oil Prices Soar as OPEC+ Hints at Production Freeze
OPEC+ plans to halt oil production increases, sending oil prices surging sharply. New York crude oil CFD prices rose by $4 from the previous trading session, reaching $83.26 per barrel, a 5.05% increase.
The sharp rise in oil prices was driven by escalating geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and OPEC+'s decision to pause all subsequent production increase arrangements.
Multiple OPEC+ representatives have confirmed that following the implementation of the September production increase quota of 188,000 barrels per day, the alliance plans to halt all subsequent increases. The meeting to finalize the plan will take place on August 2.
