Oil Prices Soften Amid Uninterrupted Crude Shipments
Global oil prices softened on Thursday, July 30, after experiencing one of their strongest rallies in recent weeks. Despite escalating tensions between the US and Iran, crude shipments from the Middle East continued uninterrupted, easing immediate concerns over supply disruptions.
Brent crude futures dropped by $0.79, or 0.9%, to $87.30 per barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures declined by $0.76, or 0.9%, to $83.70 per barrel during early trading.
The decline follows a volatile week in energy markets, with Brent surging 7.91% and WTI climbing 6.56% in the previous session, marking one of the sharpest single-day gains since the current US-Iran conflict intensified.
Market participants remain focused on developments around the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world's busiest oil transit routes, as any disruption could significantly impact global energy supplies.
