Oil Prices Spike Again Amid Ongoing Tensions with Iran

Oil prices have rebounded on Thursday after falling earlier this week following US President Trump's announcement that negotiations with Iran would resume. The surge was led by a rise in Brent crude, which increased to $69.95 per barrel.

Chris Beauchamp, a chief market analyst, attributed the price increase to the ongoing situation with Iran, saying 'Rising oil prices have crimped some of the optimism seen earlier in the week, but the price is still much lower than a week ago, providing a positive tailwind as we move into the second week of August.'

The market had initially reacted negatively to Trump's announcement on Tuesday, with oil prices falling. However, the current increase suggests that investors are taking a cautious approach to the situation.
