Oil Prices Surge Amid Escalating Tensions in Strait of Hormuz
Oil prices held near six-week highs on Monday as tensions between the US and Iran continued to escalate, affecting crude oil flows in the Middle East.
The Brent crude futures rose $1.19, or 1.2 per cent to $97.47 a barrel by 1214 GMT, having earlier hit their highest point since July 24 at $97.93.
In Saudi Arabia, the Jazan oil refinery was attacked on Monday, according to the Financial Times, citing two people with knowledge of the matter.
