Oil Prices Surge Past $100 Amid US-Iran Negotiation Uncertainty
Oil prices have risen above $100 a barrel on Thursday due to uncertainty over US-Iran negotiations. The increase represents a 2.4% jump for International Brent crude futures, which now stand at $100.35 per barrel.
US West Texas Intermediate crude has also seen a significant rise, increasing by 2.45% to $92.62. This surge is largely attributed to the ongoing talks between the US and Iran.
The Strait of Hormuz, a key route for global oil shipments, remains at the center of these negotiations. Iranian government spokeswoman Fatemeh Mohajerani stated that Tehran had received Washington's response to its latest proposal, which was conveyed through Qatar's mediation.
