Oil prices surged to above $90 a barrel on Wednesday after President Donald Trump vowed retaliation for an Iranian attack.

The US intercepted an attempted surprise attack involving multiple ballistic missiles targeting U.S. forces in the Middle East on Tuesday, according to U.S. Central Command.

Oil prices have been volatile over recent weeks due to on-again, off-again fighting between the U.S. and Iran.
