Oil Tanker Hit Near Oman as Iran Prepares for Worst-Case Scenarios

An oil tanker ship carrying commercial cargo along the coast of Oman sustained slight damage after being hit by an unknown projectile. According to reports from UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO), there were no injuries among the crew members, and the ship continued on its course unhindered.

This incident highlights the importance of one of the key shipping lanes in the world. Approximately 20 million barrels of crude oil, or 20% of worldwide petroleum usage, travel through the nearby Strait of Hormuz every day.

Iran's First Vice President, Mr. Mohammad Reza Aref, revealed that the government has been preparing for various scenarios by stockpiling supplies that could last up to two years in case things get worse.
