Oman Producer Price Index Soars 32.7% on Oil and Gas Price Hikes
Oman's Producer Price Index (PPI) saw a significant surge of 32.7% year-over-year in Q2 2026, driven by a sharp increase in crude oil and natural gas prices.
The mining and quarrying sector led the charge with a 31% price rise, while refined petroleum costs skyrocketed by 88.2%. The manufacturing group also recorded an increase of 40.3%, with other transportable goods seeing a 55.3% price hike.
Oman continues to work towards diversifying its economy away from hydrocarbons, but this latest data suggests that oil and gas prices remain a major contributor to the country's economic growth.
