Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Shell Energy India to explore deepwater blocks in the country. This move aims to enhance exploration activities in challenging areas, leveraging the expertise of both parties.

The MoU was signed on August 12, 2026. ONGC is India's largest oil and gas producer, while Shell Energy India brings its global experience in deepwater operations.
