OPEC Chief Backs Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline
The OPEC chief, Mr. Haitham Al-Ghais, has expressed his support for the Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline project, which aims to link Nigeria, Niger, and Algeria.
The pipeline will transport natural gas from Nigeria through Niger to Algeria, where it can access existing networks connecting North Africa with European markets.
According to Al-Ghais, the project will boost energy security in Europe and beyond, and create significant economic opportunities along its route.
