OPEC+ Keeps Oil Output Targets Steady Amid Iran War Uncertainty
OPEC+, a group of oil-producing countries, has decided to keep its November oil output targets steady in the face of ongoing conflicts and disruptions to oil exports. This decision comes after a meeting on Sunday, where the group assessed the impact of the Iran war on global supplies.
The OPEC+ agreement means that the production targets will remain unchanged for November, just as they did in October. The group had earlier decided to keep its output targets steady at a virtual meeting on September 6, and this decision was taken by seven member countries: Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iraq, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Algeria, and Oman.
OPEC+ is closely monitoring the oil market as geopolitical tensions in West Asia continue to pose risks to supplies and exports. The group had announced additional voluntary production adjustments in April and November 2023, but these targets will remain unchanged for now.
