OPEC+ Maintains November Oil Production Quotas Unchanged
Seven key members of OPEC+ have chosen to maintain their current oil production quotas for November. The decision was announced on Sunday by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and its allies. The seven nations involved, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iraq, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Algeria, and Oman, will keep their combined daily oil production capped at 31 million barrels.
The total does not account for any compensatory cuts required to offset previous overproduction. These adjustments are part of the agreements OPEC+ members must follow to balance their output with prior commitments.
Since September, these seven countries have ceased voluntary production cuts that were put in place in 2023 due to challenges in the global oil market. Instead, they have increased their maximum allowed output by 188,000 barrels per day compared to August levels.
The next OPEC+ meeting is scheduled for November 1, when the group will reassess market conditions and potentially make further adjustments.
