OPEC+ Sticks to Oil Production Targets Amid Iran Conflict Disruptions
OPEC+ has decided to maintain its November oil production targets unchanged, sticking to their current policy despite disruptions linked to the Iran conflict.
The decision was made during a brief online meeting involving seven key members of the producer alliance: Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iraq, Kuwait, Algeria, Kazakhstan, and Oman.
Despite market expectations that the group would avoid significant changes until next year, actual output from several Gulf producers remains significantly below their assigned quotas due to continued disruption to oil exports and uncertainty surrounding regional supply routes.
The Strait of Hormuz remains a crucial factor in the oil market outlook because of its importance to global energy shipments. Flows through the strategic waterway have improved, but production and exports from several OPEC+ members remain below their official targets.
