OPEC Under Pressure: Iraq Seeks Higher Oil Quota Amid Conflict-Related Losses
Iraq's oil minister Bassim Khudair has asked OPEC to increase the country's oil production quota to offset losses accumulated over four decades of conflict.
The current quota stands at around 4.3 million barrels per day, and Iraq is seeking a higher output to compensate for internal conflicts, external wars, and military attacks by ISIS militants, which have caused significant economic strain on the country.
Khudair stated that OPEC should consider Iraq's unique circumstances, as it has played a crucial role in defending the global community against ISIS.
