Operation Economic Outcast Crimps Iran's Oil Exports, Cuts Key Revenue Stream
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced that Operation Economic Outcast has successfully curtailed Iran's ability to move oil through tankers. According to Bessent, 'Iran loaded ZERO crude oil onto tankers in September.'
The Trump Administration's efforts, led by Operation Economic Outcast, have severely impacted Tehran's revenue stream. The restrictions are targeting the Iranian regime's most critical source of income.
Bessent hailed the success of Operation Economic Outcast, stating that it 'severs the economic lifelines that have allowed Tehran to finance its terrorist agenda.' He emphasized that the move is directly affecting Iran's enablers and lays the groundwork for the U.S. and its allies to 'drain the regime's revenue once and for all.'
In a separate post, Bessent mentioned that the Trump administration has targeted Iranian rail and automotive conglomerates. The Treasury Secretary stated that 'Iran's automotive and rail industries have been coopted by the regime and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps [IRGC].'
