Optimizing Crude Oil Bases in Palworld: Sunlit Isle vs. Mount Obsidian

In Palworld, building a crude oil base is crucial for late-game items like Missile Ammo, Frag Grenades, and Flamethrower Fuel. The best location for this purpose is Sunlit Isle around 401, -467, as it offers three close-together crude oil deposits on an easy, low-danger island.

However, once your world is set up for hot zones, heavy power demand, and raids, Mount Obsidian around -855, -455 becomes a stronger contender. It's about squeezing a tighter late-game oil operation out of a dangerous area, whereas Sunlit Isle focuses on getting reliable oil with fewer problems.

For secondary outposts, the Dessicated Desert, north of Sand Dunes Entrance (289, 243), and Twilight Dunes fields (around 252, 286) are good alternatives when your progression already has heat protection. Oasis Island (918, 188) is a straight secondary claim for another oil outpost on a different route.
