Oregon, Washington Gas Prices Soar as Crude Oil Costs Remain High
Gas prices continue to surge across Oregon and Washington, leaving drivers feeling the pinch at the pump. According to AAA, the average cost of regular gasoline in Oregon has reached $5.10 per gallon, with diesel averaging $6.83 per gallon.
In comparison, drivers in Washington are facing even higher prices, with regular gasoline averaging $5.57 per gallon.
The national average has climbed 16 cents in the past week to $4.46 per gallon, and is now 40 cents higher than a month ago. The all-time high of $5.01 per gallon, set on June 14, 2022, remains within reach as crude oil prices remain above $100 per barrel.
New federal data shows that gasoline demand rose last week, increasing from 8.55 million barrels per day to 8.79 million barrels per day. Meanwhile, total domestic gasoline stocks grew from 206.9 million barrels to 207.7 million barrels.
