The Polish energy firm ORLEN has secured a major oil supply deal with Norwegian company Equinor, which will provide over 9 million tonnes of crude oil per year for three years.

The Johan Sverdrup field on the Norwegian Continental Shelf is the source of the crude, and deliveries are set to start in September. The contracted volumes account for up to one-quarter of ORLEN's total annual crude requirement.

The deal allows for flexibility in delivery volumes, which can adjust between nearly 5 million and over 9 million tonnes depending on market conditions and operational needs.

ORLEN President Ireneusz Fąfara said, 'A secure future begins with decisions made in advance.' He emphasized the importance of long-term cooperation with reliable partners like Equinor to ensure energy security in the region.
