Yemeni Forces Complete First Phase of Operations Against Saudi Arabia
The Yemeni forces have completed the first phase of operations against Saudi Arabia, dubbed 'siege with siege' and escalation with escalation.
Over four weeks, they imposed a naval blockade on Saudi ships in the Red Sea, Arabian Sea, and Gulf of Aden, intercepting or targeting 56 vessels, including eight that were struck, according to Brigadier General Yahya Saree's military statement.
The operations also included land-based assaults against vital Saudi facilities in nine locations, including oil refineries and fields. The Yemeni forces sank two military landing ships and 10 naval vessels during this period, showcasing their readiness and preparation for larger-scale operations.
The first phase of operations has ended, with the Yemeni forces preparing to enter a new, more comprehensive phase that is expected to be 'more lethal' than the previous one. Brigadier General Saree's statement suggests that the next phase will target Saudi Arabia's sovereignty and deterrence equation.
