P.E.I. Furnace Oil Prices Rise Amid IRAC Adjustment

The price of furnace oil in Prince Edward Island rose on October 6, 2026, following the latest adjustment by the Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission (IRAC). The increase amounted to 8.0 cents per litre, pushing the maximum price to 197.1 cents per litre.

Gas and diesel prices remained unchanged during this adjustment. Regular self-serve gas prices range from 202.9 to 204.0 cents per litre, while premium gas prices range from 214.9 to 216.1 cents per litre. Diesel prices sit between 256.7 and 257.8 cents per litre.

IRAC provided a comparison with the same period last year, noting that Brent crude oil was priced at $64.38 per barrel on October 3, 2025, compared to $103.15 per barrel on October 5, 2026. Regular gas was priced at 148.5 cents per litre on October 3, 2025.

The next scheduled adjustment by IRAC is set for October 9, 2026.
