PA DEP Seeks Public Comment on Data Center Air Quality Permit
The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has invited comments on an initial State Only Air Quality Operating Permit for natural gas boilers and backup generators at TECfusions Keystone LLC's New Kensington Data Center in Westmoreland County.
The permit includes multiple natural gas-fired boilers, diesel-fired emergency generator engines, and natural gas-fired emergency generator engines. Potential annual emissions from this facility are estimated to be 29.45 tons of NOx, 2.27 tons of VOC, and 28.32 tons of CO, among others.
Comments on the permit are due November 2, and a hearing may be requested if necessary. The Westmoreland Conservation District has also issued a PAG-02 General Stormwater Permit to TECfusions Keystone LLC for the data center project site.
