Pakistan and China Seek Iran's Help to Contain Houthi Threat
Pakistan and China are seeking Iran's intervention to contain Yemen's Houthi rebels, following a week of reported military advances along the Red Sea coast and around the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.
The developments have heightened concerns over the security of Saudi Arabia's energy infrastructure and exposed vulnerabilities along critical shipping routes.
Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir reportedly raised the issue directly with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, urging Tehran to use its influence over the Houthis to prevent further attacks on Saudi energy facilities.
China has also privately sought Iran's intervention amid growing concerns over regional shipping and oil supplies. China has publicly called for restraint, dialogue, and the restoration of safe navigation.
