Pakistan Cuts RLNG Prices by Up to 28%
Pakistan's Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced a significant reduction in re-gasified liquefied natural gas (RLNG) prices for August. The price cut, amounting to up to 27.71%, is attributed to lower LNG prices in the international market and reduced imports from the spot market.
According to OGRA's notification, the RLNG price has been slashed by $6.9527 per million British thermal units (MMBtu) for consumers of Sui Southern Gas Company to $18.1345 per MMBtu for August. For SNGPL consumers, the prices have been reduced by $6.81 per MMBtu (or 26.36%) to $19.0276 per MMBtu from $25.8388 per MMBtu during July.
Notably, this reduction in RLNG prices comes despite QatarEnergy's declaration of force majeure and halt in shipments due to drone strikes on March 2, which affected Qatari energy infrastructure.
