Pakistan Farmers Demand Fair Prices for Wheat and Sugarcane Crops

The Pakistan Kisan Ittehad has expressed concerns about the government's policy for wheat and sugarcane crops. According to Chairman Khalid Khokhar, Punjab farmers have cultivated 16 percent more sugarcane this year.

Khokhar warned that if sugarcane growers suffer losses, it will be devastating for the farmers. He emphasized that the farmers do not want a subsidy but a legitimate and justified price for their crops.

Pakistan is the only country where sugarcane and wheat crops are politicized, Khokhar lamented. The farmers have changed their protest strategy and will reduce cultivation of their crops if their demands are not met.
