Pakistan Farmers Reel Under Rising Wheat Prices, Declining Sugar Exports

Khalid Khokhar spoke to Aaj News about the struggles faced by farmers in Pakistan due to rising wheat prices and declining sugar exports.

The farmer pointed out that the prices of wheat have risen significantly over the past few months, making it difficult for him to earn a profit. He stated that he used to sell his wheat at around PKR 1,800 per 100 kg but now has to settle for PKR 2,500.

Khalid Khokhar also mentioned that sugar exports have declined by 40% due to the high cost of production and lack of government support. He emphasized that this has had a significant impact on farmers who rely heavily on sugar exports as their primary source of income.
