The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) saw a significant gain on Wednesday as investors' sentiment improved due to easing concerns over energy supplies and oil prices.

Hopes of a diplomatic resolution to the US-Israeli war with Iran contributed to this optimism, which was further reinforced by the ongoing IMF programme review talks in Pakistan.

The benchmark KSE-100 Index opened strongly but faced selling pressure early on before recovering steadily throughout the day. Buying momentum strengthened around noon, pushing the index to its intraday high of 172,762.41.

The rally was broad-based across key sectors, including automobile assemblers, cement, commercial banks, oil and gas exploration companies, oil marketing companies, and refineries. However, the index failed to sustain at the upper levels and gradually lost ground through the afternoon.
