Goods transporters in Pakistan have ended their strike, which led to a decrease in wheat prices. According to reports from the Flour Mills Association Sindh Zone Chairman Abdul Junaid Aziz, wheat prices dropped by Rs2.50 per kilogram after the strike was called off. This means that wheat is now priced at Rs120.50 per kilogram, down from Rs123.

Aziz clarified that flour millers were not responsible for the price hike and stated that the ex-mill price of 2.50 number flour is Rs130 per kilogram, while fine flour is selling in the market for Rs145 per kilogram.

The strike by goods transporters was called off after they decided to postpone their action for 40 days in 'broader national interest'. The strike had been announced on August 8 and was sparked by failed talks with the government over daily petrol and diesel prices, among other issues.
