Pakistani Farmers Struggle with Rising Wheat Prices and Declining Sugar Exports

Khalid Khokhar, a farmer from Punjab, has expressed concern over the current wheat and sugar prices in Pakistan. According to him, the high cost of production is making it difficult for farmers to make ends meet.

The price of wheat has reached Rs 2,500 per 100 kg, while sugar exports have declined by 70% due to low international demand. This has resulted in a surplus of sugar in the domestic market, causing prices to drop to Rs 60-70 per kilogram.

Khokhar believes that the government should intervene and provide support to farmers to help them cope with the rising costs. He also suggests that the government should consider implementing policies to encourage sugar exports and reduce the surplus in the domestic market.
