Pakistan's Gold Price Surges to New Heights Amid Global Economic Shifts
Pakistan's precious metals market surged on August 21, 2026, driven by global economic shifts and softening central bank policies overseas. The price of 24-karat gold per tola reached a new high of Rs 477,136, up from Rs 471,936 in the previous session. This represents an increase of Rs 5,200 or a 1.09% gain over the last day.
The price of 24-karat silver also rose by Rs 210 per tola, settling at Rs 7,379 per tola. The international bullion market saw a significant jump, with official association rates increasing by $52 per ounce to $4,547 and spot prices rising by $73.90 to $4,592.
The All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA) released the updated benchmark rates, which were promptly reflected in local sarafa markets across Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Peshawar. Retail buyers and investors are advised to confirm live trade rates with certified jewelers before making purchases.
