Pakistan's Inflation Crisis: Poor Families Left Struggling Amid Rising Prices
Pakistan is facing an economic crisis as inflation continues to rise, making life unbearable for the poor. Sardar Abdul Rahim, the Secretary General of Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) in Sindh, has expressed serious concern over the issue.
He pointed out that despite the government's claims of a bumper wheat crop, prices of essential commodities like wheat, flour, sugar, milk, vegetables, and other daily-use items are skyrocketing. This is leaving poor and working-class families struggling to afford even two meals a day.
Rahim blamed the government's incompetence, flawed economic policies, and failure to control artificial inflation for the worsening situation. He also criticized repeated increases in petroleum prices, which are driving up transport fares as well as prices of food and other daily-use items.
The PML-F leader urged the government to immediately reduce prices of essential commodities, activate the price-control mechanism, and take strict action against hoarders and profiteers. He emphasized that if the government cannot control prices, it should acknowledge its failure instead of leaving citizens helpless.
