Pakistan's regasified liquefied natural gas (RLNG) prices have hit their highest level in over a decade. The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has notified a 32 percent increase for August, driven by expensive spot LNG purchases.

The RLNG price has surged to $25.83 per mmBtu for Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) and $25.09 per mmBtu for Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGCL), equivalent to a retail price of about Rs. 7,204 per mmBtu.

This is the highest RLNG price since Pakistan began LNG imports. The increase follows an earlier 15 percent rise in July and a 148 percent hike from February's RLNG price of $10.45 per mmBtu.
