Pakistan's Sensitive Price Index Hits 8.62% Year-on-Year Increase

The Sensitive Price Index (SPI) in Pakistan has risen 8.62% year-on-year for the week ending September 10, according to data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.

Onions were the biggest contributor to this increase, with prices up by 125.52%. Other items that saw significant price hikes include LPG (55.42%), diesel (45.26%), and petrol (39.10%).

However, there were some price decreases during the week, including potatoes (-35.21%) and chicken (-24.30%).

The Gulf war has been affecting world oil prices, leading to higher domestic petroleum costs and increased freight charges for manufacturers.
