Palm Oil Gains as Soybean Prices Tumble Amid Global Supply Shifts

The global oil market is experiencing mixed trends in vegetable oils, particularly soybean and palm oil. According to recent data from електронна зернова біржа України, the decrease in sunflower oil supply from the Black Sea region has been offset by increased palm oil supplies, supporting palm prices.

However, soybean oil prices continue to fall due to increased supply and lower demand for biofuels. In anticipation of the Strait of Hormuz being unblocked, October Brent crude futures fell 3.8% to $79/barrel, putting pressure on markets.

The decrease in soybean oil prices is also attributed to improved weather conditions for soybean crops in the US and lower oil prices. December soybean oil futures on the CBOT exchange in Chicago fell 2.2% to $1,487/t, a 6% decline over two weeks.
