Panoro Minerals Stock Rises on Advancing Cotabambas Project in Peru
Panoro Minerals Ltd. (TSXV:PML) saw its stock rise by 3.14% on 2 October 2026, making it one of the top performers in the market that day. The company is making significant progress with its 100%-owned Cotabambas copper-gold-silver project in southern Peru. The rise in stock price reflects increasing interest in copper developers with substantial projects in well-established mining regions. Panoro is also listed on the Lima Stock Exchange and trades in the United States, attracting a diverse shareholder base.
The Cotabambas project is located in the Apurimac region, known for its major copper operations. The project is considered one of the most significant undeveloped copper-gold assets in the area. Panoro has strengthened its financial position in 2026, closing a C$21 million LIFE offering and receiving C$7.0 million from the sale of the Antilla project. These funds are supporting a 15,000-metre drill program and expanded engineering and permitting work.
CEO Luquman Shaheen highlighted that the proceeds from the Antilla sale will bolster the LIFE offering to fund additional drilling, exploration, permitting, and engineering programs. A key goal is to expand higher-grade resources, which could enhance the project's economics. The company is also aiming to complete a preliminary economic assessment. Social licence is critical in Peru, and Panoro has secured its tenth community agreement at Cotabambas, reducing the risk of delays.
Investors are closely watching the drill results from the 2026 program, particularly any intercepts that could expand higher-grade zones. Updates on engineering and permitting work, as well as broader copper market trends, will also influence the stock's performance. However, risks such as political instability in Peru, the pre-development stage of the project, and copper price volatility remain significant factors. Overall, Panoro is better funded than in recent years and is actively advancing one of southern Peru's notable copper-gold projects.
