Persian Gulf Oil Exports Recover, but Peace Hopes Fade

Oil futures fell on Friday and for the week as reports suggest that two-thirds of pre-war Persian Gulf exports have recovered, despite fading hopes for peace talks between the US and Iran.

The United States Oil Fund LP ETF (USO) and other oil-related assets like UCO and CL1:COM saw their prices decline in response to the news.

Traders are taking notice that more oil is being covertly exported from the region, even as the situation remains uncertain. The US and Iran have yet to reach a peace agreement that would reopen the Strait of Hormuz to unrestricted oil shipments.
