Petroleum Corporation of Bangladesh (Petrobangla) has secured 19 liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargoes for October and November, ensuring uninterrupted supply to meet domestic demand. Of these, 10 cargoes are scheduled to arrive in October, while the remaining nine will come in November.

Petrolbangla Chairman Md Abdul Mannan said that there is no problem regarding LNG-carrying cargoes for November as the required nine cargoes have been confirmed. He added that necessary LNG cargoes have also been secured for October, with a total of 10 scheduled for import.

The imported LNG will be supplied to the national gas grid after regasification, where it undergoes a process known as converting the LNG back into a gaseous state. Qatar-based QatarEnergy and OQ Trading of Oman supply LNG to Bangladesh under long-term agreements, while some supplies come from short-term contracts or purchases from the spot market.
