Petrobras Secures Long-Term LNG Supply from Cheniere

Petrobras, Brazil's state-owned oil and gas company, has signed a long-term agreement with Cheniere Energy to purchase super-chilled fuel for over 20 years. This deal marks the first long-term contract between the two companies.

Under the terms of the agreement, Petrobras will purchase approximately 0.8 million metric tons (Mt) of liquefied natural gas (LNG) per year from Cheniere's terminals in the United States. The deal covers a period of 22 years and is underpinned by a sale and purchase agreement (SPA).

The agreement is seen as a significant milestone for Cheniere, which has been expanding its LNG export capabilities through its Corpus Christi Expansion project.
