Petronas Expands Fleet with New LNG Carrier Delivery
Petronas LNG Ltd., a subsidiary of Malaysia's energy giant Petronas, has expanded its fleet with the delivery of a new-built liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier. The vessel, named Puteri Kelantan LNG carrier, was built at Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding in China and is designed to bolster reliable global LNG deliveries amid growing worldwide demand.
The Puteri Kelantan LNG carrier was delivered on September 24, 2026, to Petronas LNG Ltd. It's owned by a joint venture company led by the Japanese shipping player Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha (K Line). The vessel is of the same type as two other vessels delivered for PLL in May and June 2026.
The delivery of this new vessel is set to strengthen Petronas LNG's fleet and support the reliable delivery of LNG to its customers. The Puteri Negeri Sembilan, a sister vessel, was named at the same time and is scheduled to be delivered in November 2026.
