PETRONAS-Led LNG Canada Expands Capacity Amid Global Demand Surge
LNG Canada, a massive liquefied natural gas project backed by Malaysia's PETRONAS, will increase its capacity to meet rising global demand.
The joint venture partners have made a final investment decision on the expansion, which will add two processing units, or trains, within LNG Canada's existing facility. This move is expected to boost the facility's production to 28 million tonnes per year, more than doubling its current capacity.
The expansion project comes as global demand for liquefied natural gas continues to rise, driven by increasing energy needs and a shift away from fossil fuels in some regions.
