Petronas LNG Expands Fleet with New Vessel from Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding
Petronas LNG Ltd., a subsidiary of Malaysia's Petronas, has expanded its liquefied natural gas fleet with the delivery of a newly built LNG carrier constructed at Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding. The vessel, named Puteri Kelantan, was handed over on September 24, 2026, at the Chinese shipyard.
The carrier is owned by a joint venture company led by Japanese shipping player Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha. A naming ceremony for the vessel was held on September 2, 2026. It is the same type as two other vessels delivered for Petronas LNG in May and June 2026.
Representatives from various companies attended the ceremony, including representatives from Petronas LNG, the Chinese shipyard, Bank of Communications Financial Leasing, China Merchants Energy Shipping, and China Merchants Financial Leasing.
